Day Seventy-One

March 21, 2011

HAH! This is Art Beresheim and his mustache. During finals week, everyone at my work decided to have it be mustache week. So, all the guys shaved their beards and the girl just had fake ones. Well, I thought Art looked like a pedophile, so I wanted the photo of the day to be all about him.
I haven't had time to edit them all yet, because I was planning on making a collage out of all of them, so I decided to put my favorite one up instead. :]
(Don't worry Art, I will give you all of them when I am finished.)
Shot with NIkon D3 and 24-70mm wide-angle zoom lens. F/2.8, 1/100 shutter and 320 ISO.

Day Seventy

March 20, 2011
Shot with Nikon D3 and 85mm micro lens. F/13, 1/160 shutter and 100 ISO.

This is the final picture in my Editorial project. I used the same model with every picture that I painted, thank you so much Anna for your help. :]
By the way, the one with Anna painted black with the white handprints, is the second to last picture.

This photo was for my Advanced Lighting project. Honestly, this is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken this year.
What do you think?

ALMOST DONE!!

It has gotten to the point where my finals are almost done, so I can finally post my 10 days worth of photos. :D
You should be excited! Obviously, some of them aren't as good as the others. The reason is because I used the better one for projects. Haha
Hopefully by tomorrow I will have all of them uploaded!
Wish me good luck!

Day Fifty-Nine

Okay every body! Let's get ready to see the pictures I've been wanting to show you! :]

March 10, 2010
This photo was taken in the smoking section outside of my school. I actually laughed when I saw this sign! Yes, I am a smoker, and I am conscious that smoking is not healthy. I have been struggling to stop smoking since I was 18, seeing that I started when I was 12 and because I thought it was 'cool'. If only I could go back in time and kick my little 12-year-old ass for even thinking about starting.
Anyways, getting back on subject, the reason why I laughed was that I think it's funny how the person who put this sign on this 'Smoking Bush', probably drives a car, which also pollutes the Earth. It's a contradicting statement!
If you don't want our lovely earth to be polluted, then how about you stop driving your car, and tell me how easy that is. :] Then I'll stop polluting with my cigarette.
Taken with a Nikon D3 and 24-70mm wide-angle zoom lens. F/2.8, 1/100 shutter speed and 1600 ISO.

Stressing from Finals!

Hi Everyone!
I just wanted all of you to know, thank you so much for the support and watching my blog. It gives me the motivation to keep up my photos.
One thing though, as I'm sure all of you have noticed, is that I haven't posted in a while. I am SEVEN days behind in posts! I want to assure you, I have been taking a photo every day, but I haven't had time to post them.
Most of the pictures that I want for the photo of the day are photos that I am using for my final projects. Because of this, I am still in the process of editing them, and want to make sure they are to the quality of what I want.
Finals are very stressful for me, so please just be patient and I will have all my photos up within a couple days. :]
Thanks again everyone!
Wish me luck for finals. :P

Day Fifty-Eight

Wow, it's been a while now that I've been doing this, even though it feels like over a year already. Jeez time can feel like it's moving so fast, yet so slow.
Anyways, I didn't really do anything special for today, I just saw a little flower thing by my school so I decided to take a little macro shot with it.
Shot with a Nikon D3 and 105mm micro lens. F/3.3, 1/125 shutter speed and 100 ISO.

Day Fifty-Seven

Yesterday was interesting. I had the photo studio at school and was originally planning on doing something different but I ended up changing at the last minute. The night before, I was struggling to find ideas for my Advanced Lighting class project, and alas, I thought, "Saran wrap!"
I thought it turned out interesting but more like an old cheap horror movie. Also, my idea has changed again, so I won't be using this as one of my finals.
I did take this knowing it would be my 365 day photo, so I thought I would show you anyways.
Taken with Nikon D3 and 50mm lens. F/16, 1/160 shutter speed and 100 ISO.
Also, the lovely model who let me wrap plastic around her face, is Dana. She's awesome and loved trying to breath for this.
*No one was harmed during the process of this shot*
:P

Day Fifty-Six

First off, I apologize for being late again on my posts, it has been a very busy week. Secondly, I regret to inform you that I cannot find the pictures that I took for day 56! I seriously went through my entire computer and 3 harddrives to find where I put them; nothing. I am very frustrated, I remember taking them off the memory card onto my computer but there are no signs of them.
I cut my hair, which by the way was done very half-ass because I was very tired. Which I still need to fix but obviously have been too busy with my photos. :P
So, I decided to post a picture that I took to add to the "Vase or Two Faces" picture. Another addition out of 6 photos for my Editorial class.
Shot with a Nikon D3 and 50mm lens. F/16, 1/125 shutter speed and 100 ISO. :]

Day Fifty-Five

Yesterday's photo was taken at a friends house. An old typewriter never used, stored in the basement just for memory's sake.
I took it out of the dark and just placed it on a shelf next to a window to put a softer light onto it. I wanted to photograph the memories of this old object, more in a questionable way though.
You could look at this photo and think, "Oh, this is an awesome old typewriter!" or you could think,"I wonder what it has been through during its lifetime."
Taken with Nikon D3 and 105mm micro lens. F/3.2, 1/100 shutter speed, and 1250 ISO.

Day Fifty-Four

Yesterday was interesting, I ended up going to this old warehouse. As I was walking through, I came upon this hallway, which looks very similar to the hallway of my mothers work.
Anyways, I did some post work on it, and it turned out very creepy. WHich gives off the exact feeling while I was walking through it.
Shot with Nikon D3 and 24-70mm wide-angle zoom lens. F/2.8, 1/100 shutter speed and 640 ISO.

Day Fifty-Three

Sorry I haven't posted. I've been editing this days photo for a while because it's a part of a series that I am going to be doing for my Editorial class.
Anyone/everyone that sees this, pleases give me some input/advice on how I can make this better. (Lighting, post work, etc.)
:]
The idea for this image is the optical illusion 'Vase or Two Faces'. I didn't want to just have the silhouette of the faces, because anyone could do that. Anna Shilov, the model used, was painted all black to show the silhouette of the faces.
Like this idea? Or no?
Shot with Nikon D3 and 50mm lens. F/12, 1/100 shutter speed, and 100ISO.

Day Fifty-Two

So I was playing around with a new toy, a Lightsphere, and I just started taking pictures of random stuff while working with Mike. I was having a lot of fun, not really taking any of my pictures serious, it was more to see how it worked.
Well, when I imported the photos, I was attracted to one in particular but in a weird way. Something about his face just stuck out! So I started messing around with it and when I cropped it(not cropping it like this on purpose), I laughed! The contrast of light and dark gives an old film noir look and the crop gives off a mysterious feeling.
I don't know. I like it! :]
Shot with a Nikon D3, 50mm micro lens, and SB800 with a lightsphere. F/5.0, 1/100 shutter speed, and 100ISO.

Day Fifty-One

Kate Barr!!
I can't tell you how much crap she was giving me today on how I have so many pictures of Dave for my 365 and none of her. So, to make her shut up (by the way, I love this girl to death), I started snapping away this lovely lady. By the end of the mini shoot she basically tells me that she regrets even saying anything. I thought 'my work is done!' :]
During the shoot she pulled out the most ridiculous things to take pictures with, along with her crazy faces. I saw the XLR cables on the wall in the Cage, and just put one over her head.
And this is what happened..
Shot with a Nikon D80 and 18-70mm zoom lens. F/4.5, 1/60 shutter speed and 1000ISO.
Hahahaha she is amazing.
Thank you Kate Barr for the photo! ;]
You have a very lovely face.
<3

Day Fifty

This is probably one of the most lamest photos I have had with this project!
Honestly, I would have had a awesome picture for today to show you guys, but my studio time ended up turning into someone else's time because I am too nice of a person.
Basically, I told a friend that I'd help model, and they booked the studio after me because I knew I wouldn't need a whole four hours. Well, to make a long story short, I said they could take their pictures first so we could just get it out of the way and I'd do mine after. Well, didn't happen, it took A LOT longer than I thought. So not only did I not get any studio time, or a picture for today, I am so mentally/physically exhausted that I just can't get myself to take a better photo.
So, this is what you guys get to look at for a day to show you how dissapointed I am.
And I am not even going to bother with the description..
Unacceptable!! I need to lay down embarrassment . Haha
